About Me

Welcome to my web site. I’m Gloria Ferguson, author of sweet romances and cozy mysteries, laced with heart, hope, and humor. I write lighthearted stories about relatable people, who act in extraordinary ways. Whether in contemporary or historical settings, my characters face life’s challenges to find clever and entertaining solutions. My stories always end with a happily-ever-after or a happy-for-now. I penned my first short story in third grade, followed by others about animals, music, friends, and family. Thus, my first series was born.
I hail from northeast Ohio, but left the snowdrifts and Kent State University behind for sunny Aruba, where I worked as a teacher for a large oil company, instructing children of ex-pats in general coursework and music. A decade later, I waved Ayo to the Caribbean island, and settled in Florida to teach and add an Education Specialist degree from Stetson University to my tool kit. When I enrolled in a fiction writing class at Daytona Beach Community College, I was hooked. There, I found like-minded souls who really weren’t crazy, but had voices talking in their heads too. I’m grateful for the many gifts I received: close friends and family, good health, and abundant travel opportunities. I enjoy living in northeast Florida and when not writing, I play piano, sing in a local choir, swim, walk, and eat more dark chocolate than my dentist would approve of. I still have a lot left on my bucket list, mostly writing goals. My mantra is: The Best is Yet to Come.
